 about nccThe National Cadet Corps ( ncc full form)is the Indian military cadets' organization, with its headquarters situated in New Delhi. It is available to school and college students on a free basis.The National Cadet Corps in India is a non-profit corporation which recruits cadets of high schools, colleges and universities across India. They receive basic military instruction in the use of small arms as well as parades. Officers and cadets are no obliged to enter military service after having completed their training. However they will be given a higher priority than normal candidates in selections based on their performance within the Corps.

Aims of NCC

1.To create character traits and courage, and commandership. discipline to develop leadership as well as a the spiritual perspective, the spirit of adventure and sportsmanship, and qualities of service to others to youngsters in order to make them a successful citizen.

2.To develop a human capital that is organized, trained and enthusiastic young people who can be able to provide leadership throughout the entirety of life, including who are in the Armed Forces and be always willing to help the nation.

"I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Crops. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly".

The cadets of the national cadet corps take vows of solemnity we will continue to stand up for our common cause in india.We vow to be responsible and disciplined member of our nation.We will participate in positive community service , with an attitude of kindness and selflessness to ensure the wellbeing of all human beings.

The NCC in India was formed as a result of legislation known as National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. The Act was approved on July 15th, 1948. National Cadet Corps can be considered as the successor to the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) which was founded in 1942 by British In 1942. British during 1942. In the period of World War II, the UOTC didn't meet the standards established by the British. This led to the notion that better plans should be developed, which could assist more children effectively and even during peace time. A committee led by Pandit H.N. Kunzru suggested a cadet association to be formed within schools and colleges on a nationwide scale. In 1948 the National Cadet Corps Act was passed by the Governor General and on July 15 on the 15th of July, 1948 The National Cadet Corps came into existence.

In the conflict during 1965-71 between United States and Pakistan, NCC Cadets were third line of defense. They organised camps to help factories that produced ordinance, and they also provided ammunition and arms towards the battlefield. They they also formed patrol groups to eliminate enemies paratroopers. The NCC Cadets also collaborated in conjunction with Civil Defence authorities and actively took part in rescue missions as well as traffic management. After both the 1971 and 1965 Indo-Pak wars , the NCC syllabus was revised. Instead of being the secondary line of defence NCC syllabus put more emphasis on the formation of leadership and officer-like characteristics. The training in the military provided to NCC students received was eliminated and greater emphasis was placed on other areas , such as youth-management and social service.
